On Thursday April 9th, Mission Soil Manager, Diego Canga Fano (Acting Deputy Director-General - DG AGRI) was invited to the committee for agriculture and rural development in the European Parliament to give a presentation of the EU Mission Soil. That was the opportunity to reconfirm the importance of soil health for food production and resilient agriculture. The Members of the European Parliament (MEPs) discussed and stressed the links with other important issues such as water resilience and the one health approach, the link between the Mission Soil living labs and the farmers, universities and researchers and the fundings needed to further support farmers adopting sustainable soil management practices. The Mission Manager invited MEPs to support the Mission and get involved in its local implementation. Recording of this presentation and this discussion available here.
