The Mission Soil Platform is the European Commission's central support platform for implementing the Horizon Europe Mission "A Soil Deal for Europe". It serves as the one-stop shop for information, collaboration, knowledge exchange and stakeholder engagement, supporting the coordination and delivery of Mission activities while showcasing progress towards healthier soils across Europe.
The Platform supports the Mission Secretariat in the implementation of Mission Soil by strengthening cooperation, promoting innovation, facilitating access to knowledge and monitoring the Mission's impact. It also supports the mobilisation of private funding for soil health; and it helps connect Mission activities with complementary European and national initiatives, contributing to the Mission's goal of achieving healthy soils by 2050.
The Mission Soil Platform specific services include:
a Mission Soil contact point and helpdesk to reply to requests for information on the Mission and its activities;
this website with information on projects (including Mission Project Hub), Mission progress (Dashboard), funding opportunities, news, and events;
a Knowledge Hub – a one-stop shop giving land managers, policymakers, educators, researchers, advisors and the public access to the knowledge, results, tools and resources produced by Mission projects and beyond;
support for the coordination of Mission activities, including collaboration between funded projects through facilitation of thematic project clusters
communication, outreach and stakeholder engagement materials and activities, including support for the Mission Soil Manifesto, the Mission Soil Ambassadors, citizen engagement and community building
the organisation of the Mission's major annual events: the European Mission Soil Week and the annual conference on soil health business models and investments – Mission Soil Investment Forum;
financial advisory services and technical assistance to leverage and scale up private investment in soil health, including training for finance providers, support to soil health investment projects, an investment guidance tool and a soil health investment tracker;
monitoring and reporting on the progress of the Mission, including through the Mission Dashboard.
