Help us select the best research proposals to deliver on the EU Mission Soil

We look regularly for experts to help us evaluate and select the best innovative ideas for EU funding. What should you do to work with us as an evaluator?

The EU Mission: ‘A Soil Deal for Europe’ 2024 calls for proposals will be opened soon, with evaluations taking place from October. We are looking for experienced and motivated specialists on soil-related areas to help us evaluate the project proposals and select the best innovative ideas that could advance towards the restoration and protection of soils. You can prepare for the next evaluations following a few steps. First of all, if not yet done, register in the Commission’s experts database, if you would like to work with us as an evaluator.

If you are already in the Commission's experts database, update your profile regularly. Make sure you use the right keywords – your expertise should match the objectives of the Mission Soil, e.g.: Soil health – business strategies (for soil health, carbon removals); land management policies; modelling approaches; participatory research (incl. citizen engagement); regional and national decision makers; soil health indicators (incl. benchmarks and thresholds); soil health restoration; soil monitoring; sustainable soil management practices, solutions and tools for different soil types (incl. nature-based solutions, agroecology, integrated pest management).

Finally, in addition to your thematic expertise, update your profile also with your experience and expertise in cross-cutting aspects of research & innovation (e.g., co-creation, open innovation, financial management of projects; Intellectual Property Rights, etc.).
